Sue writes "a marriage contract from Pointe Coupee dated February 17, 1758
for Sieur Guillaume Guerin called St. Aubert, with Marieanne
Oliveau daughter of Magdalene cabre(Kable) and Pierre Oliveau.
Signing for the future bride, Sieur Pierre Ducote her stepfather,
stipulating for her, with his wife Madgeleine Cabre, her mother.
I think this puts Pierre and Madegeline married after the birth
of Pierre Ducote Born Sept. 4, 1753 and bapt. at Point Coupee."

The database contains 873 names. Click on a SURNAME to find out more information. This is an ongoing project. This is your traditional 'GED2html' with mini trees database.
Surnames include: Bordelon, Daigrepont, Dubroc, Ducote, Joffrion, Juneau, Laborde, LaCour, Lemoine, Mayeux, Rabalais, Roy, and many more branches.
After reviewing several documents including census reports, marriage records and burial certificates, the Ducote branch in this database shows the father

Please send any documents you may have that prove differently.

Apanages in the French Monarchy
An apanage is a portion of the demesne of the Crown which is given by the sovereign to a younger son. The apanagist was given a certain number of fiefs. That meant that he was put in place of the king as feudal lord owner of the real estate of the fief, as well as owner of feudal and seigniorial rights.
